IMPORTANT NOTE: Non Warranty Faults

In the unlikely event there is a problem with your hot tub and we have to visit you to make a repair, and it is found the cause resulted from poor maintenance or customer negligence then you would be charged the full cost of the repair and callout. Please note the issues below which will prevent damage to your hot tub or spa outside of the warranty.

Water Care

A vital aspect of hot tub maintenance is water management. Poorly maintained hot tubs may result in too-high levels of pH or Water Hardness. Both of these complications can result in a limescale build-up which may impair your hot tub surface, pumps, heaters or jets. If our engineers find a build-up of limescale on or in your hot tub, this would not be covered under warranty.

Please refer to the user guide with any chemical pack you use.

Air Locks

The right way to fill your hot tub is to insert a hosepipe into the filter compartment. If a customer inserts a hosepipe inside the main seating area this may cause an air build-up inside the heater (an air lock). Even under normal usage, air locks can cause the heater to fail. This would not be covered under warranty. To prevent problems ensure the hot tub is filled via the filter window. An air lock can potentially be spotted by activating the circulation pump. If water does not appear to circulate it’s possible you have an air lock. To fix this error, loosen the unions at the side of the suction end of the circulation pump until water starts to flow.

Filters

Poor filter care is one of the major causes of problems not covered under warranty. Bad filter conditions allow a build-up of particles in the spa water. These particles may damage the hot tub components. Our engineer will check the condition of your filter. If it’s found your filter is in a poor condition, the repair will not be covered under warranty.

We advise that you soak your hot tub in filter cleaner every few weeks. In addition, we advise changing the filter every 6-8 months, usage dependent.

Use of Cover

Your cover must be used whenever the hot tub is not in use. If the hot tub is exposed it allows dust, leaves, sunlight exposure and organic material to enter. These can potentially be drawn in the pipework, which can cause a blockage. This can harm the mechanism. If on inspection the engineer detects leaves or other evidence of the cover not being used, such as prolonged sunlight damage the repair would not be covered under warranty.

Cleaning Filter

Your filter can be washed by hand with your hosepipe, or the filter can be removed, and left to dry and then the filter brushed to remove dirt.

Wooden Skirting

Many of our spa’s come with a PVC skirting. At times one of our models may use wood skirting. All wood skirting has a tendency to fade with time. You must re-stain your wood skirting every six months. To do this, sand the surfaces and smooth down any rough patches. Stain the wood surfaces using a suitable stain. You must not use surface sealants, shellacs of varnishes. The warranty on wood skirting is only valid if it has been regularly stained.

Frost

Expansion of water from frost can damage to your tub components. If you use your hot tub in winter you must turn the frost prevention system on. If you do not intend to use the spa throughout winter than the spa must be ‘winterized’. Problems arising from frost damage are not covered under warranty.

Conditions of Warranty

Warranties apply to the original customer, at the original address that the spa was installed/delivered. Your warranty does not include engineer mileage – a call out charge will be calculated upon reporting your fault to SuperHotTubs. Your limited warranty does not include the cost of shipping parts back to SuperHotTubs, or to an authorised repair agent for assessment. This warranty does not include costs incurred by the use of a non-authorised engineer. Customers must gain written consent from SuperHotTubs before instructing any engineer not authorised by SuperHotTubs Spas. In all cases SuperHotTubs has the sole responsibility for determining the cause and nature of a fault. SuperHotTubs determination is final. SuperHotTubs reserve the right to provide a replacement spa of equivalent value if we deem it to be necessary. In such a circumstance the customer shall be responsible for the cost of moving and installing the new spa into position.

Performance

The customer must report any discovered fault to SuperHotTubs Limited within 10 days. A SuperHotTubs representative will then diagnose the fault over the telephone and may suggest a number of possible solutions for the customer to attempt. If after these suggestions fail to resolve the fault, SuperHotTubs will then send out an engineer. If an engineer is sent out, payment of a call out/travel charge will be required from the customer. Payment of the call out/ travel charge is necessary before an engineer will be sent out. Call out fees are waived for any fault occurring in the first 30 days of delivery. If the engineer determines that any fault is not covered under this warranty, the customer will be solely responsible for the cost of any parts and the engineer’s onsite labour charge.

Exclusions

Damage to lights or pillows reported beyond the day of delivery will not be covered under warranty. All warranties on every part of the tub and all our obligations are void if the spa has been subject to chemical imbalances, alterations or modifications not authorized by SuperHotTubs, attempts to repair the hot tub not authorised by SuperHotTubs, improper use of the hot tub including but not limited to running the spa dry or filling the spa up incorrectly, electrical installation by a non-qualified electrician, frost and ice in the hot tub, incorrect winterisation, or any commercial use whatsoever.

No part of the hot tub is warranted against chemical damage, including but is not limited to deposits of limescale on the spa shell or components. Nor are hot tub and spa covers are not warranted against chemical burns. Proper chemical use is the sole responsibility of the customer. The hot tub shell and components are not covered against defects which could occur as a result of the customer using the tub improperly and against our recommended terms, such as not using the cover when the hot tub is not in use. The warranty does not cover damage arising from unauthorized sanitizers such as tri-chlor, acids, calcium hypochlorite, sodium hypochlorite, peroxides, and any sanitizing chemical that might remain undissolved on the shell surface.
